Here is the vision as it stands on the old Homepage and was formulated by the International Meeting in January 2007:

<<IDEM is an Organisation based on the qualities of youth. As an international Network built on personal contacts IDEM aims to be a platform for people to unfold their true potential to contribute towards society.>>

This still seems totally meaningful as it is, but needs to be expanded by showing the nature and intention of the work we are doing. Some of the areas that we have covered and have characterised what we have thought and done are briefly stated here:

The process of an initiative: Decision, Action, Reflection and Internalisation leading to new decision. (the lemniscate)

Preparation – Accompaniment – Follow-up

Information/Motivation – Participation/Engagement – Empowerment and Training – Networking – Development Cooperation

Participants – Organisers – Supporters – Members. What are the roles and tasks of each of these categories of involvement?

Topic : The Vision for IDEM

Hello Everyone,

At the Idem Retreat in Kirchheim a group of us discussed the IDEM Vision and came up with these ideas and questions. I am posting them here so that everybody can join in with coming to a vision that we all agree to.

The vision of Idem ist to provide a platform on which they can realise their creative potential in shaping and cultivating our global society. It wishes to serve as a network with minimal structures (for example legal and financial forms and information) within which young people can develop initiatives on their own responsibility. In this manner they can develop their personality and contribute their part in bringing about meaningful change in Society.

-  Which structures are best for IDEM to allow initiative to take place?

- How much structure should IDEM give to its participants for their orientation?

- How much should be left open to enable initiative?

- How do we guarantee the freedom and development of the initiative?

- What exactly are the qualities of youth or the creative potential of young people?

Please let us have your ideas

Regards, Dimi

Topic : Finding a common vision

Our vision for Connectivity is still fairly open. What there is of it so far has flown into the structure and content of this website. It tell you that there are various initiatives that work independently, that it is an international network preparation and conference, that it is for young people, social projects and people with some experience in this field, all of whom want to connect with one another.

It takes place in a Developing country, addressing both international and local issues. It does not wish to impose its ideas and precepts, but to create spaces in which a common exchange can take place. And so on...
